DESCRIPTION:The Cannes Festival (French: Festival de Cannes)\, known in English as the Cannes Film Festival\, is an annual film festival held in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès in Cannes\, France. It is an invitation-only event and previews new films of all genres\, including documentaries\, from around the world. Founded in 1946\, it is considered the most prestigious film festival in the world and is one of the most publicised. \nThe Marché du Film (lit. Film Market) is the business counterpart of the Cannes Film Festival and one of the largest film markets in the world. \nEstablished in 1959\, it is held annually in conjunction with the Festival de Cannes. \nFor the first time in history\, attendance at the Marché du Film 2014 reached 11\,806 registered participants\, including 1 927 buyers\, for 5\,036 companies.
